Hi, I’m Mitch Lohr — a proud Leawood native, communications professional, and former congressional staff member with firsthand experience in public policy and legislative work at the highest level of government. I’m running for Leawood City Council because I believe our city deserves thoughtful, accessible leadership that knows how to make government work better for everyone.

I grew up right here in Leawood, and after spending time in big cities across the country, I’ve never stopped appreciating what makes this community so special: the tree-lined streets, thoughtful development, and neighbors who truly care. I had the opportunity to work in the U.S. House of Representatives, where I directly managed policy on budget appropriations, energy, environment, natural resources, and education. That experience gave me a front-row seat to how thoughtful policy can solve real problems, and a renewed appreciation for the power of local government to improve people's lives.

Now, I want to put that experience to work right here in Ward 3. Whether it's improving our parks, ensuring mindful growth, or streamlining communication between City Hall and residents, I'm committed to public service that listens first and leads with integrity.

Our residents deserve a representative who will ask the right questions, listen closely, and work hard to keep our city thriving. This campaign is about community and protecting what makes Leawood great while preparing it for the future.
